-- NEW YORK -- American Saxophone Quartet, the New York Philharmonic Orchestra saxophone section, will make its Kilbourn Hall debut Tuesday, April 18, at 8:00 PM. ASQ members Albert Regni (soprano), David Demsey (alto), David Carroll (tenor) and Lino Gomez (baritone), perform a broad selection of music including Ramon Ricker's Three Jazz Settings for Saxophone Quartet, commissioned by The Commission Project.

The Quartet will hold an open rehearsal and master class preceding the performance in Kilbourn Hall from 5:30 - 7:00 PM. Area saxophonists are invited to attend, at no fee, this rare opportunity to hear and observe one of the world's finest chamber music ensembles nurture life from the printed page. ASQ music director, Albert Regni, and other quartet members will answer questions from the audience.

The American Saxophone Quartet records for Sons of Sound. The group's first two CDs, "Spanning the River" and "Gandy Dancer," are available from Amazon.com or directly from the label. The Quartet has partially completed tracking for its next record, featuring guest artists Larry Combs (Chicago Symphony Orchestra), Paquito D'Rivera and Eddie Daniels, each performing on clarinet.
