September 8 , 1999 -- NEW YORK -- Top New York session artist and perennial touring member of the Rolling Stones, Michael Davis has teamed with Sons of Sound to release tracks from his latest recording, Bonetown, over the Internet. Bonetown is a collaboration featuring Davis and his west coast counterpart, studio legend Bill Reichenbach. The all-star rhythm section includes Joey Calderozza (Branford Marsalis and Michael Brecker) on piano, John Patittucci (Chick Corea) on bass, and Will Kennedy (Yellowjackets) on drums. Bonetown was made possible, in part, by The Commission Project, a non-profit organization that underwrites composers-in-residence programs in city schools, and commissions original music for student musicians. On behalf of TCP, Mr. Davis leads a workshop known as "Trombone Circus" in schools around the US. Tracks from Bonetown may be previewed in Liquid Audio format, and purchased for download in either Liquid Audio or MP3 formats. Tour dates in support of Bonetown will be posted by Sons of Sound and Hip-Bone Music. Look for Bonetown on compact disc in your local record store.
